Yes. They are indeed. Most Thirens are seen as uncontrollable. As unruly. People often treat us differently because of it. The Thirens who are more human like have an easier time but are often commodified and objectified.

Then beast Thirens like myself are viewed with a sense of danger. Similar to the tales of humans who change into monsters on the full moon.

As much as he might like you to loosen control, the most important thing to him is going to be that you feel comfortable with him. You don't have to push yourself to do anything you don't want to do. And if you do push yourself, you can take it at your own pace.
And I am saddened that others in his world do not either. And yet, I want him to show me his wild side. Perhaps we can show one another.
